Eating habits in our society have changed drastically over the last decades, due to the massive production of unhealthy food that is advertised everywhere and bought by millions of people throughout the world. Unfortunately, these new food tendencies have many negative effects on our health; one of them is diabetes.
Diabetes, also known as diabetes mellitus, is a group of metabolic diseases in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. This high blood sugar produces the symptoms of frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger. Diabetes is due to either the pancreas not producing enough insulin, or the cells of the body not responding properly to the insulin produced.
